39 Weeks and We're All Set!

Today marks 39 weeks of my pregnancy with my baby watermelon...small sized, not the big ones, mind you. We are so close and I am so excited to meet this little man! It's been a very different pregnancy for me than with William. It hasn't been terrible just a little harder considering I can't lay around all day since I have an almost 3 year old with endless energy. You can check out my personal blog for more about the past 39 weeks and my Instagram feed. I have only been taking bump photos on my phone so today I felt like a "real" photo session was in order. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right?

We set up the tripod out back, got "dressed" up a bit and snapped a few shots. I know I'll look back and be glad we did this. Our family of 3 will be no more very soon.

Miracle of miracles! The nursery is finished too! I don't think I could ever really say that with William's room. I definitely tried to do way too much for him so this time I was determined to be a bit more practical. I just didn't have as much time to work on projects this time around. I still love how it came out, the fabrics I chose and how simple it is. I know I can always add along the way too.

My inspiration came from a print we already had in the room that James took in Colorado. It's a black and white of aspens. From there I just had to work with the existing paint color and see what I could come up with. I was initially going to do just black, white and grey but the more looking I did the more I wanted color. The woodland fabric was my first choice and it's so perfect.

I went with the woodland theme but didn't want to go overboard with it and do too many animals or anything like that so I incorporated the navy tomahawk fabric and the rust arrow fabric as well. I made the crib sheet, quilt, two pillows and changing pad cover. James made the wooden frames for these felt animals. My mother-in-law found them and I think they add a nice touch of whimsy.

I also made the mobile out of a branch I wrapped with coordinating colored embroidery floss. The wooden animals and leaves I found at Michael's for maybe 30 cents each.

Like I said it's pretty simple. The opposite corner of the room still has a desk and computer so it'll be a shared space until little man moves in here permanently.

Here we are at 39 weeks and all set for this baby! James has been off all week so there has been a lot of nesting, cooking and organizing. Oh and relaxing too. It's been a great time as a family that I know I'll always cherish.

The Lundquists | Austin Family Photography

What a great way to end the year! This was my last session of 2014 before going on maternity leave. I love that this family did a big group photo like this. Three generations! They were a lot of fun to work with too.

Halloween | Castroville Lifestyle Photography

Halloween at our house is pretty low key usually. We hand out candy and that's about it. The past couple times, William has been too little to know what's going on and I never put him in a costume. James and I don't dress up either.

This year though was a bit different and it was a lot of fun! My brother-in-law's family has a big party and a ton of trick or treaters in their neighborhood in Lytle. It's also his birthday so even more reason to celebrate. This year he turned 40 so we decided to make the short trip down to celebrate with them.

I made capes for William and Maria but as you can see William went as my lil' pumpkin. I had a different shirt to go with his cape but it never made it on and the cape stayed on for maybe 8 minutes total the whole evening. We even forgot it when we went home. Maria on the other hand, was totally into the costume....she has a thing for pink and sparkles. Costume or not, William had a blast.

Setting up the big screen and projector for movies after dark.

I think Maria takes her cue from her mom when it comes to costumes. Adriana has just as much fun dressing up. I made her cape as well and here they are, together, testing them out.

Superhero family! Happy Birthday, Matt!

Adriana made the cake, cupcakes and even homemade ice cream for the birthday boy. Oh my word, I needed a bigger stomach.

Some of our family from San Antonio stopped in as well and it was good to catch up.

Jessica and Nathan got in the spirit of things as well with their bank robber costumes. Jessica made their masks, Nathan's shirt and the money bag. Pretty fabulous.

And the part the kids were waiting for....well,  yeah candles are exciting but cupcakes? Yes, please!

James and William took first shift with handing out candy and William loved it. He also loved eating the cupcake. Love this shot.

Can't forget Miss Sofia, the little bear. How adorable!! Jessica added the bows and pearls to her costume.

And here we are in our costumes! Oh wait....nevermind. I am pregnant and ran out of energy after three capes. Haha! I think we look pretty good still. I am a very realistic pregnant lady, no? My boys are so handsome.

Adriana dishing up her amazing ice cream....I could go for some right now.

What a fun evening with family and friends. I should start planning our costumes for next year....hmmm.

In the Pumpkin Patch

I love pumpkin patches and taking photos in them. I just love pumpkins and fall. The past few years we've tried to visit Barton Hills or Sweet Berry Farms as a family but this year it didn't happen. That's ok, we did Devine Acres and managed to get the whole family to Buda for a few quick photos.

Two toddlers and two babies....yeah, they don't all look in the same direction at one time....
