Hi, I'm James

Hi, I’m James.

I thought I’d introduce myself as the one responsible for all of this Vignette Photography stuff you see around you. I know there’s a wee section of our website devoted to me, but I thought I’d write a post to telling you a bit more about me.

First of all, I’m married to the coolest, most beautiful gal you’ll ever meet: Elizabeth.  We spend pretty much all of our time together when we’re not rocking our 9-to-5s.  We were married in January of 2008, and have spent the time since then having a blast together, traveling, setting up ‘home’, and learning how this ‘living with another person’ stuff goes.

We love having people over to our apartment to hang out. We’re also way into what we call ‘wine parties’, which consist of a bunch of friends, bottles of wine you’ve never heard of, and fantastic hours d’overs. In addition to that, you can find us at the pool more often than not, and yes, for the record, I’m actually starting to tan.

For my day job, I work at a website company here in town programming eCommerce websites.  If I didn’t have a wife to help me keep things straight, I’d probably be on the computer way more than one person should be on a normal day.  Along w/ my love for photography, I pretty much love all things technology.  I’m a huge geek in that way and love talking the latest developments in software, hardware, web development, and everything in between.

But alas, I do love photography and the way it quenches the creative desires of the right side of my brain.  Seeing “art” instantly materialize on a camera is the coolest thing in the world!  Then, seeing people see themselves in an artistic way and loving it is such a good feeling at the end of the day.  It’s the combination of my fascination with photography and being able to provide people a great service at the same time that makes me want to be a photographer more than anything else.  So, if you come to a cocktail viewing of your wedding photos and manage to squirt out a tear of joy, it will totally make my day!  :D

The chance to do more and more with Vignette is so exciting!  It has been a lot of hard work to get going and keep going, but it’s all so rewarding.  I love all the people we’ve met and connected with. So much fun.

Well, that’s a little bit about me. Hopefully we’ll get the chance to get to know you and your story too!
