I've been meaning to do this post since January 1st but better late than never, right?
2010 was an incredible year for me and my business. I made the decision to leave my day job and pursue my passion full time. It was scary but I did it and don't regret that decision one bit.
I took a few trips, attended a few workshops and conferences - all to strengthen me and my business. They were all great decisions that really helped me. 2010 was a year of focusing on the business. That was good, it definitely needed it.
As I was thinking about 2011 and resolutions, a lot of what I wrote down for both the business and myself were along the same lines: less social media and more social. I want 2011 to be about building face-to-face relationships and strengthening the relationships I already have.
I also want to take control of the business and not let it control me. Working from home is great but also means that it's easy to work ALL the TIME. That is not good for building relationships. As much as I love my work, it's not good to always be ON.
So for 2011, I want to put into practice all that I have learned and not be afraid to stretch myself. I want to meet people and really get to know them whether they are vendors, clients or friends. I want to be less 'professional' Elizabeth and more 'friend' Elizabeth. I run a personal business - both for my client and for me. I don't want to be afraid of people knowing the real me. I want to be more creative and not afraid to ask questions.
2010 was an amazing year and it makes me excited to know that I can make 2011 even better. I really do thank the Lord that I am where I am today because I didn't make it here on my own.
