North Carolina - Around Raleigh

James and I spent some time this month with some good friends of ours in North Carolina. It was my first visit to the area but I didn't go with a lot of plans to sight see or anything since my friend was due to have her baby soon. The weather agreed with me because the majority of our stay was cold and wet. I wasn't disappointed too much though, the last few days were absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful skies and warmer temps.

These are just a few of the pictures I took as we walked around downtown Raleigh. My friend, Blakeley and I started off our 'tour' at Sitti. Amazing food! I am sorry James missed out on this one.

This church was across the street from the Capitol building.

Coming from Texas (where everything is bigger), I was surprised at the size of the Capitol building in Raleigh. It was so small and quaint but full of beautiful little details.

After the Capitol we strolled a bit aimlessly, then decided to see the Governor's Mansion. Along the way...

Unfortunately, this is all we saw of the Governor's Mansion. Seems you can't just walk right in and get a tour.

So we made our way to the Mordecai House....which was also closed. Oh well, the outside is just as pretty.

What a beautiful area! I'll have more share from the Chapel Hill area as well.
