Vignette Photography is made up of James and Elizabeth Hafner.
We love people. And we love being a part of people's lives. Commissioning us to capture your wedding is like asking us to be a part of one of your biggest days.
Frankly, we're flattered.
We're less about getting lots of shots and more about getting the right shots. We won't overload you with twelve shots of the same pose, or your wedding cake from forty different angles. What we will provide for you is the peace of mind that the details of your event, both large and small, will be captured in a unique and artistic way. You have enough to worry about...let us worry about the photography. Drop us a line to get started.
No two brides are the same, so why should your wedding photos look the same? We don't believe in cookie-cutter photos, and you shouldn't settle for them.
We are currently booking for 2010, but we're filling up quickly. Contact us to check our availability and to lock in your wedding date!Vignette: (adj.) 'vin'•'yet';
What is your wedding photography style?
It could be described as elegant, fine-art, and unobtrusive. We won't get in the way of the day's events, but we love being right in the middle of the action to capture all the emotion and energy of the event.
Do you have a studio?
As much as we love studio work, no, not at the moment. Perhaps in the future, but right now we love scouting out new locations that would be fun to wander around and try something new/funky. Shooting in constantly-changing conditions (sunlight, locations, etc.) has the convenient quality of being just one more way we ensure that your photos are unique!
What's with the name?
'Vignette Photography' was born out of James's love of the vignetting effect in photographs (the darkening of the corners in an image). Sometimes it's subtle, sometimes it's dramatic. Either way, it's always artistic.
Can I give you list of shots to take?
Of course. A few weeks before your wedding day, we will touch base with you to determine exactly what you are looking for. On your wedding day, please designate a liason who can assist us in knowing who is who.
How soon will we get to see our photos?
We try to get the photos back to our clients as quickly as possible. The usual waiting period is 3-4 weeks. During your reception (with your permission) we like to set out Event Cards. These tell you and your guests where to view the images, how to access them and the date they will be live.
Do you bring backup equipment with you?
Always.
We hate posing for photos--how long do family formals take?
Depending on how many combinations of family members you would like us to take photos of, plan on anywhere between 10-20 minutes.
We love group photos! Can you take photos of everyone?
If that is what you would like us to take photos of, we would be glad to. It will be important to let us know during your consultation to plan ahead for the best place and time so it's a smooth process for your guests during your event.
Have more questions? Ask us! We'd love to talk to you about what we can do to make your day as stress-free as possible!
